About Us
Brightly is a small team in Riga that makes it easy to meet people in real life.
We create events. Dinners, BBQ nights, listening bar sessions, tastings and masterclasses. All of it is built on one idea: get people in a room and get them talking.
Our best-known night is Dinner with Strangers. Five people who have never met sit at the same table. You book alone, and you find out who you are eating with when you sit down. The goal is simple: you walk in on your own and walk out knowing people you would never have met otherwise.
Why we started
Riga is a city people keep arriving in. For work, for study, or back after years abroad. And then they realise they don't know anyone.
Our phones got very good at showing us people, and very bad at introducing us to them.
It is more common than it looks. In Latvia, about one in nine adults living alone says they feel lonely most of the time.
That is why we started Dinner with Strangers — so people have somewhere to meet new friends and spend a lovely evening.
How Dinner with Strangers works
Book your seat
Pick a date, come alone, and tell us a little about yourself.
We build the table
Five people, seated by age, language, interests and energy, then mixed up on purpose.
You get the address
Two days before, by email. The venue and the time. Not the guest list.
You show up
Sometimes dinner, sometimes drinks. No host, no name badges, no icebreaker games. You find out who you are eating with when you sit down.
Food and drinks you pay for yourself at the venue, straight to the restaurant.
What we believe
Show up as you are
No profiles, no photos, no filtering by looks. You are not being matched. You are being invited.
Curiosity beats charisma
You don't have to be the loudest person at the table. The best guests are the ones who ask good questions.
Real life, not content
Phones down, faces up. We take a few photos so you have something to remember, but nobody's evening is a shoot.
Different on purpose
A table of five people with the same job is a work dinner. We mix tables because that is where the surprising conversations come from.
Everyone is safe here
We host in real venues with our team reachable all evening. Disrespect towards anyone at the table ends someone's evening, and they are not invited back.
Nobody has to prove anything
You can come after a bad week, or new in town knowing nobody, or just quiet. Half the table feels the same way.
